Hydrophilic PTFE Nano Filter

Product ID: hydrophilic-ptfe-nano-filter|Nano-grade PTFE

Hydrophilic PTFE nanofiltration element specially designed for advanced semiconductor processes and high-end chemicals. It has hydrophilic properties right out of the factory, eliminating the need for tedious alcohol pre-wetting steps and plug-and-play. Provides 20nm, 30nm, and 50nm ultra-high precision filtration, with extremely low metal ion dissolution (3μg/device). The entire series is produced in a Class 1,000 clean room and is optionally equipped with Class 100 advanced cleaning and packaging. It is the first choice for filtration of ultrapure water and highly corrosive chemicals that combines ultimate purity with ease of operation.

Ratings are general material-level guidance, not guarantees. Actual concentration, temperature, exposure time and mechanical stress all affect the outcome — validate with samples under your real process conditions before adoption.

Where it fits

This cartridge handles nanometre-scale final filtration of ultrapure water and aggressive process chemistries. The 20 / 30 / 50 nm ratings exist to catch residual particles that are already down in the nanometre range — and at that level, whether you hit the target often depends less on the membrane than on how long the system takes to return to baseline after a change-out.

Key characteristics

The defining design choice is shipping the element ultrapure-water pre-wet. PTFE is inherently hydrophobic and normally needs isopropanol to wet the membrane before water will pass, after which the alcohol has to be flushed out completely. Pre-wet delivery removes that whole sequence: after a change-out you go straight to flushing.

Cage, support layers and end caps are all HDPE, and metal ion extractables are 3 µg/device. Production is in a Class 1,000 cleanroom with optional Class 100 cleaning and packaging, and every cartridge is 100% integrity tested before shipment.

Choosing between options

The three PTFE cartridges differ widely in usable range — start with temperature and rating:

!
The pre-wet pack holds ultrapure water, so install promptly after opening and keep the element wet. Once it dries out the pores lose their wetted state and the element must be re-wetted before full flow returns — which means running the very alcohol wetting procedure the pre-wet option was meant to avoid.
Why is it described as plug-and-play?
The nano filter ships hydrophilic, so aqueous chemicals wet through directly and no tedious alcohol pre-wet step is needed, making it plug-and-play. This shortens start-up and reduces alcohol and waste handling, helping both uptime and cleanliness in advanced processes.
How clean is it for metals?
It has very low metal extractables at just 3μg/device and is produced in a Class 1,000 cleanroom, with optional Class 100 advanced cleaning and packaging. This lowers metal contamination risk, suiting advanced-node ultrapure water and corrosive chemical filtration.
Which nanometer ratings are available?
It offers 20nm, 30nm and 50nm ultra-fine ratings, chosen by process node and particle-control needs. Finer ratings give tighter particle retention; pair them with upstream pre-filtration to preserve flow and service life.
