Pleated Cartridge Filters

Large surface-area pleated cartridges in PES, PTFE, PVDF, PP, Nylon66 and UPE media for semiconductor, pharma and precision chemical point-of-use filtration.

Pleated cartridge filters use large-area pleated construction — wrapping membrane media in V-pleat or star-pleat geometry around a support core — to deliver 5–10× the effective filtration area of comparably-sized melt-blown or string-wound cartridges, dramatically reducing initial pressure drop and extending service life. JIUNYUAN pleated cartridges cover PES, PTFE, PVDF, PP, Nylon66, UPE, Polysulfone and Glass Fiber media in a full retention range from 0.03μm nano-class to 10μm.

Media selection follows the target fluid: hydrophilic PES/PVDF for aqueous and general chemical point-of-use filtration; hydrophobic PTFE for sterile gas/air filtration and aggressive chemicals; UPE and Nylon66 as the standard solution for semiconductor wet etch, CMP, and photoresist filtration. All Semi-Grade cartridges are assembled in Class 100 environments and qualified by full extractables, metallic-ion release (ICP-MS) and particle-shedding tests.

Typical applications: semiconductor wet processes (SC-1/SC-2, TMAH, HF, IPA), pharmaceutical sterile filtration (0.2μm/0.22μm bioburden reduction), biotech mAb/vaccine final filtration, chemical solvent clarification, food & beverage sterile bottling, and UPW / DI Water POU loops.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I use PES or UPE for semiconductor wet processes?
PES offers good hydrophilicity, high flow and moderate cost — suited for SC-1/SC-2 and general chemicals. UPE has the highest chemical compatibility for aggressive chemicals (HF, TMAH, SPM) and is the standard for advanced-node photoresist and CMP POU. Select based on chemistry pH, fluoride concentration, and temperature.
What is the difference between 0.2μm and 0.22μm pleated cartridges?
Both are sterilizing-grade. 0.22μm is the pharmaceutical USP/EP convention, qualified by ASTM F838 Brevundimonas diminuta challenge; 0.2μm is more common in semiconductor and chemical use — essentially the same spec. Pharmaceutical validation requires 0.22μm with full integrity test documentation.
How often should pleated cartridges be replaced?
Differential pressure is the primary indicator: replace when ΔP reaches 2–3× the initial value (typically 1.0–2.0 bar). Also re-evaluate when flow decay, product quality drift, or 3–6 months of operation is observed. Install differential pressure gauges and log readings periodically.
What is the difference between Semi-Grade and industrial-grade cartridges?
Semi-Grade is assembled in Class 100 environments with low-TOC extractables (<50 ppb), low metallic-ion release (ICP-MS 35 elements), ultra-low particle shedding, and full batch documentation. Industrial-grade is 30–50% of Semi-Grade cost but cannot meet UPW, CMP, or photoresist purity requirements.
